Ghanaian striker Kwadwo Duah scores in Ludogorets’ defeat to Botev Plovdiv in Bulgarian Cup final

Swiss-born Ghanaian striker Kwadwo Duah scored in Ludogorets’ 3-2 defeat to Botev Plovdiv in the Bulgarian Cup final on Wednesday afternoon.

The match, which took place at the Vasil Levski, saw Ludogorets Razgrad aim to improve their head-to-head record of 29 wins, 3 draws, and 3 losses against Botev Plovdiv.

Despite Ludogorets having more possession and shots in the game, Botev Plovdiv emerged victorious.

The game started with Antoine Conte giving Botev Plovdiv an early lead in the 4th minute with a header assisted by Ivelin Popov. However, Kwadwo Duah quickly equalized for Ludogorets in the 8th minute, assisted by Caio. The first half saw further goals from Jakub Piotrowski (10′) and Martin Sekulic (45′) for Botev Plovdiv, making it 2-1 at half-time.

In the second half, Emmanuel Umeh extended Botev Plovdiv’s lead to 3-1 in the 58th minute, assisted by Mohamed Brahimi. Rwan Seco scored a consolation goal for Ludogorets in the 67th minute, assisted by Anton Nedyalkov, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Ghanaian winger Bernard Tekpetey did not feature in the match due to suspension. The result marks a disappointing end to Ludogorets’ cup campaign.
