Africa is standing on the brink of a first-mover technological advantage and Ghana is stepping up to lead the charge.
In a landmark decision that will shape the continent’s digital landscape, the Ghanaian Cabinet recently approved a groundbreaking $250 million investment to establish a national artificial intelligence (AI) computer centre.
This historic move, announced by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, aims to position Ghana as the premier hub for responsible AI development in Africa. With a vision to transform critical sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, finance, and education, the message is on point: Africa’s AI ecosystem is rapidly maturing, and the time to invest is now.
However, the conversation doesn’t stop at national policy. It is scaling a continent-wide framework.
We are thrilled to announce that Hon. Samuel Nartey George will be a keynote speaker at the upcoming Pan African AI & Innovation Summit in Accra at the award-winning Kempinski Hotel (panafricanaisummit.com) on 22nd – 23rd September 2026.
Bringing his insights straight from the forefront of Ghana’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, set for an official launch later this month. The Minister will share actionable visions on data governance, computing infrastructure, and ethical AI deployment with innovators, investors, business and tech leaders from across the globe.
A Golden Opportunity for Industry-Academia-Government Partnerships
The Pan African AI &Innovation Summit, in its 2nd year, is signposted to be the nexus where policy meets innovation, and where capital meets opportunity. With Ghana’s digital strategy heavily backed by UNESCO and the European Union, the proactiveness is undeniable.
By partnering with the Pan African AI & Innovation Summit, organisations will position themselves as an integral part of Africa’s digital transformation. Here is why your organisation needs to be involved:
- Align industry experience and expertise with policymakers: Engage with the architects of Africa’s AI frameworks and understand the regulatory landscape before your competitors do.
- Be in lockstep with a $250M AI center boost: Ghana’s commitment of a quarter of a billion dollars is a positive signal to the global market. Being at the summit places your brand directly in the sightline of major public and private technological leaders ready to invest.
- Connect with Top Talent and Startups: The summit will gather the brightest minds in African tech. From AI researchers to dynamic startups. As the Minister noted, the goal is to move beyond observation to “active participation.” Be the brand that helps scale these actionable ideas.
- Demonstrate Ethical Tech Leadership: A core pillar of the new AI centre is the ethical guardrails of AI deployment. At the Pan African AI Summit, there will be a showcase of brands’ commitment to responsible, sustainable, and socially impactful AI.
- Be Part of Africa’s Tech Future: The decisions, partnerships, and investments made today will dictate the technological trajectory of the African continent for decades to come. As the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat in Accra continues to foster a borderless digital economy, the Pan African AI Summit represents the ultimate starting point for organisations and institutions to expand their footprint in a high-growth, AI-ready market.
Let’s celebrate the frontier of innovation and join the trailblazers of Africa’s AI future. Empower the youth innovators, shape policy and form partnerships at the Pan African AI & Innovation Summit.
