Ghanaian goalkeeper Abdulai Iddrisu has been named the Ethiopian Premier League Goalkeeper of the Year following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with Negelle Arsi FC.
The former Bechem United shot-stopper earned the prestigious individual honour after playing a pivotal role in his club’s season with a series of impressive performances between the posts.
Iddrisu featured in all 37 league matches, keeping 17 clean sheets while conceding just 26 goals. In addition to his defensive contributions, the goalkeeper also registered an assist and received only one yellow card throughout the campaign.
The award marks another milestone in the Ghanaian’s career, having previously established himself as one of the Ghana Premier League’s finest goalkeepers during the 2021/22 season. That year, he recorded an impressive 18 clean sheets for Bechem United, earning widespread recognition for his consistency.
His latest success in Ethiopia highlights his continued development and ability to perform at a high level outside Ghana.
Iddrisu’s performances have further strengthened his reputation as one of Ghana’s top goalkeepers, with his exploits in the Ethiopian Premier League underlining his quality and consistency on the continental stage.
