England have announced their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Ghanaian-linked midfielder Kobbie Mainoo earning a place in the final team for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The England national football team, who are grouped with Ghana national football team, unveiled a blend of experienced stars and exciting young talents ahead of the competition.
Mainoo, whose parents are Ghanaian, has been rewarded for his impressive performances with Manchester United and is expected to play a key role in England’s midfield.
However, there was a major surprise as Trent Alexander-Arnold was left out of the squad despite enjoying another strong season with Real Madrid CF.

Several debutants also made the cut, including Adam Wharton, Jarrad Branthwaite and Morgan Rogers, all of whom impressed during the qualifying campaign and domestic season.
Senior players such as Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice were also included as England target World Cup glory.
England are regarded as one of the favourites for the tournament and their meeting with Ghana is already generating huge excitement among supporters.
