Gospel shows should be free – Rev Abraham Lamptey reveals

The esteemed General Overseer of Believers House of Worship International Rev. Abraham Lamptey has boldly declared that charging admission fees for gospel events goes against the very essence of their purpose.

Rev. Abraham Lamptey expressed his strong conviction that access to God should not be hindered by monetary barriers.

“Whether an A-list Gospel act or not, patrons should not pay to attend the event,” asserted Rev. Lamptey. “I don’t have a problem with others charging fees, but if the event is meant to encounter God for all the wonderful things He has done for us, then I think admission should be free.”

His unwavering stance stems from his deep-seated belief in God’s immense love and grace, which transcends any earthly value.

“I cannot put any price tag on God. Therefore, asking patrons to pay would be wrong,” he explained.

“I have done my Art of Worship for 16 years and it is always free,” he affirmed. “It doesn’t matter the artiste billed on the programme. The identity of the artist doesn’t matter.”

His advocacy for free gospel events extends beyond his own organization, as he passionately encourages others in the industry to adopt a similar approach. “As I said, you cannot take money if the event is meant to encounter God,” he emphasised.
