The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC, Edward Ato Sarpong and the Bank’s Management Team aimed at supporting and strengthening institutions for national development.

The visit, which took place at the headquarters of ADB PLC on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, provided an avenue for cordial discussions on the role of strategic partnerships in advancing education, financial inclusion, youth empowerment, and sustainable economic growth.
During the engagement, Mr Iddrisu praised management for moving the Bank towards the path of growth and prosperity, and emphasizing ADB’s contribution to industry as well as its continued support for national development initiatives, particularly in sectors critical to economic transformation and social progress.
He underscored the importance of collaboration between the education sector and financial institutions in creating opportunities for young people, promoting financial literacy, and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
According to the Minister, institutions such as Agricultural Development Bank PLC play a vital role in supporting national development through inclusive banking services and strategic investments that contribute to economic resilience.
The Managing Director, of ADB PLC, Edward Ato Sarpong expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit and reaffirmed ADB’s unwavering commitment to enhance support for government initiatives and policies that engender economic empowerment, wealth creation and national development.
Ato Sarpong highlighted ADB’s strategic focus on customer-centered banking, digital transformation, MSME banking, agricultural financing, and empowering businesses and communities across the country.
The courtesy call further reflects the growing recognition of the importance of collaboration between public institutions and financial institutions such as ADB in promoting Ghana’s socio-economic development agenda.
