Light-heavyweight boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, has denied allegations that he bit his opponent, Jonathan Tetteh, during their bout at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium over the weekend.

The UK-based boxer was penalised during the fight after an incident in which he was accused of biting Tetteh, also known as Worldwide. The point deduction proved decisive, as Freezy Macbones went on to lose the WBA Africa Light-Heavyweight title by a unanimous decision, with judges scoring the contest 80–73, 78–74, and 77–75 in favour of Jonathan Tetteh.

Speaking on Maakye Sports on Tuesday, December 23, Freezy Macbones firmly rejected the accusation.

“I didn’t bite him,” he stated, insisting that his opponent exaggerated the incident to win the sympathy of the judges.

According to Freezy Macbones, the ring referee, Roger Barnor, had a conversation with Jonathan Tetteh in Ga before Tetteh went down, claiming he had been bitten.

“Everybody knows who won the fight. If because of some small ‘things’ you gave it to him, I have no problem with that,” he said.

Despite the controversial outcome, Freezy Macbones said he is open to a rematch, adding that he is ready to face Jonathan Tetteh again anywhere and at any time.

The bout has since generated widespread debate within Ghana’s boxing community, with fans and analysts divided over the referee’s decision and its impact on the final result.
