Ghanaian singer Efya revealed in an exclusive interview with 3FM’s Urban Blend with AJ Sarpong that she had been absent from the music industry for so long due to a broken heart.
Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, better known as Efya, has stated that she took time away from music to deal with her grief because of the profound impact it had on her artistic performance.
“I was heartbroken that I didn’t want to sing. You know I’m a baby girl, so the way I feel matters to me a lot, and it wasn’t something I wanted to deal with at that time. In the latest entertainment news today, Efya disclosed that she has spent the past 15 years continuously working in the music industry. Throughout this extended period, she was actively exhibiting her work by performing at various events.
“Also, I’ve been working for 15 years without a break, and in between these times, I’ve been performing on all the shows and still representing. And I think I gave everyone their feature,” she added.
Efya’s solo career has thus far yielded a mixtape and an album. She has also given the world such treasures as “One of Your Own” with Bisa Kdei, “Daddy Yo” featuring Wizkid, “Getaway,” “Best in Me,” and her many collaborations Sarkodie. She’s still a talented singer, and she just released a new song called “Super Super.”
