Broadcast journalist and aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Gomoa West, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has pledged to place NDC delegates in the constituency on a monthly allowance if he is elected Member of Parliament after the 2028 general election.
The outspoken broadcaster made the promise during a recent interview as part of his campaign to secure the party’s parliamentary nomination.
“I’ve told them and I am promising again that I will pay, after the elections, when I become their MP, every month, every delegate will be paid, every month,” Captain Smart said.
His latest pledge adds to a series of commitments he has made since declaring his intention to contest the NDC parliamentary primaries in Gomoa West, where he has also promised to prioritise infrastructure development and transform the constituency through major development projects if elected.
While the NDC has not officially announced the timetable for its 2028 parliamentary primaries. The party is currently embarked on internal reorganisation and executive elections, which includes branch, constituency, regional and national executive elections.
