Asante Kotoko’s coach Prosper Ogum has vowed to overturn his team’s recent run of poor performances after the Porcupine Warriors suffered their fourth successive defeat of the season against Nations FC on Sunday.

Nations FC’s Nafiu Sulemana opened the scoring after Kotoko goalkeeper Mohamed Camara mistimed an aerial ball, leading to the ball dropping before Nafiu who smashed home from close range.

Camara was once again culpable for Nations FC’s second goal after he gave the ball away to Faisal Charwetey, who latched onto the goalkeeper’s blunder to prod the ball into a gaping goal, increasing his team’s tally to two and his season’s goal tally to eight.

The Porcupine Warriors looked out of their depth, just as they have been since top scorer Albert Amoah picked up a knee injury against Heart of Lions, as they slumped to their fourth successive league defeat.

After a bright start to the season, Kotoko are yet to win a game since beating defending champions Samartex on matchday seven and remain scoreless in their last three games.

However, head coach Prosper Ogum is adamant he can turn the tide.

“I will turn things around. The supporters are not happy and I’m not happy. This is the time to fix things and so the supporters should have a little patience. Kotoko is known for winning games so obviously everyone wouldn’t be happy after losing four games on a row.”

Kotoko face a stern test against Aduana Stars next before playing fierce rivals Hearts of Oak.
