A lady has sparked conversations about single motherhood after stating in a viral video that no woman willingly chooses to raise a child alone unless she deliberately decides to do so.

The woman argued that some women become single mothers after leaving abusive marriages, while others may choose to have children without getting married if they reach an advanced age without finding suitable partners.

She explained that women should prioritise their well-being rather than remain in abusive relationships, stressing that mental and emotional abuse can have lasting consequences.

Speaking in the video, the lady said some women become single mothers because they cannot continue enduring abusive marriages.

She argued that although some men may physically abuse their partners and later attempt to make amends with gifts, the psychological effects of abuse can be more damaging.

According to her, women experiencing such situations should prioritise their safety and leave the marriage if necessary rather than risk losing their lives.

“You might get married and your marriage is abusive. You as a woman, you cannot endure emotional blackmail,” she said.

She added that a woman should choose herself and focus on raising her child rather than remain in a relationship that threatens her well-being.

“Now who die, na him lose. If you kpai in that marriage, hear me, that man will remarry without even thinking twice,” she said.
The lady also addressed women who are approaching 50 without finding suitable partners for marriage.

She argued that women who desire to have children should consider their options rather than wait indefinitely for marriage, noting that age could affect their opportunity to become mothers.

According to her, she would consider having a child without getting married if she reached her 50s without finding a man willing to marry her.

“If I get to 50-something years, for instance, I didn’t see a man to come and ask me, ‘Babe, please, I want to marry you,’ seriously, I will look for a fine, rich man. I don’t want to marry, but let me have my child,” she said.

She clarified that her position did not mean she would reject marriage if she found a suitable partner.

Rather, she maintained that marriage should not be the only consideration for a woman who desires to have children.
