Gifty Nana Afriyie, the wife of Kumawood actor Oteele, has dismissed claims that she is the woman featured in an alleged intimate video involving her husband, as she makes an emotional appeal to families whose children are under her care.
A video showing Oteele in an intimate moment with another woman recently surfaced on social media, triggering widespread discussion and speculation about the identity of the woman featured in the footage.
Addressing the controversy in a video shared on her TikTok page, Gifty Nana Afriyie said some people who do not know her personally had assumed that she was the woman in the video.
She, however, strongly denied the claims and urged the public to compare her appearance with that of the woman in the footage.
According to Gifty, the woman seen in the video has a lighter complexion, while she does not have a fair complexion.
“The particular reason I am here is that some people who do not know me well think that I am the one in the video. No, please, I am not the one in the video. There is a light on me. Look at my skin colour and hand. I am not light-skinned,” she said.
The controversy has also raised concerns for Gifty because of her role in overseeing an orphanage home and caring for children entrusted to her.
Speaking through tears, she apologised on behalf of herself and her family and appealed to families who have entrusted their children to the home not to lose confidence in her because of the controversy.
She pleaded with the families not to come for their children, stressing that she loves them and remains committed to their welfare.
“I plead with families not to lose confidence in me. I will be a good mentor to the children. No family should come to take their orphans from the home because I love these children,” she said.
Gifty further said she had committed herself to being a good mentor and role model to the children and was relying on God for the strength and support needed to help them grow and achieve their full potential.
“I ask God to give me the strength and all the help I need to take care of them and help them reach the heights that will make my soul feel fulfilled,” she added.
Meanwhile, Oteele has remained at the centre of public attention following the circulation of the alleged video.
The actor has acknowledged the impact of the controversy, describing the situation as painful and embarrassing, particularly because of the intense public reaction and backlash that followed the video’s emergence.
