The High Commission of India in Ghana is set to host the fourth edition of India Fest at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 24, 2026, starting at 6:30 p.m.
India Fest was introduced in Ghana in 2023 to showcase India’s cultural heritage and cuisine, giving Ghanaians the chance to experience Indian culture and interact with members of the Indian community in Ghana.
The fourth edition of the India fest will feature traditional Indian cuisine, folk dances, Bollywood performances, handicrafts, cultural exhibitions and displays by Indian companies.
The High Commissioner of India to Ghana, H.E. Ambassador Surinder Bhagat, called on the Ghanaian media to publicise the event and encourage people across the country to attend.
“India is colorful so expect something very colorful ” he said
Additionally HE Surinder Bhagat emphasized that, the India fest is also associated with Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance, and is celebrated by millions of people around the world mostly in November.
Ambassador Bhagat said “the whole world is one family,” adding that treating guests with respect and hospitality is the hallmark of Indian culture. These values, he said, reflect the festival’s aim of promoting friendship, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.
Beyond culture, the event gives businesses, cultural groups and individuals a chance to meet, exchange ideas and explore common interests. It forms part of wider efforts to strengthen ties between Ghana and India through cultural cooperation, trade and people to people engagement.
