Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, emphasizing that industry players are critical partners in national development.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2026, she held high-level engagements with major stakeholders, including Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, Freezones Enterprises Association, and the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).

Madam Ofosu-Adjare stressed that taxation should not be the primary focus when viewing businesses, but rather their contributions to employment, value chains, and livelihoods.

“We see you more as partners in building the economy than as taxpayers,” she said, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting industry and addressing unemployment, which she described as a national security issue.

The minister’s engagements aim to strengthen partnerships, remove bottlenecks, and ensure economic growth. Her stance aligns with the government’s efforts to diversify the economy and promote sustainable development.
