The National, an English-speaking publication which covers the Middle East, has profiled Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif.
This follows his recent performance at the Wireless Festival held in Abu Dhabi.
Sherif joined a legion of international superstars to thrill attending fans.
He also had a touching tribute to the late Christian Atsu.
Following that, he’s spoken to the National on his career so far, his ‘sad’ life and his biggest hits.
“I do feel like I live kind of a sad life when it comes to what I do,” he told the publication.
“I mean, I don’t put myself down or anything like that but I normally just do my own thing and I don’t really know many people.
“And even the small friends that I have, it’s the kind of relationship where we don’t really talk about the important things like our insecurities. This is why I love the studio because it is the only place where I really feel free to express how I feel.”
Sherif also revealed his viral hit of 2022, Kwaku the Traveller, was recorded in a short period of time which is why it feels so raw.

“I think people kind of enjoyed listening to that vulnerability,” Sherif says. “And really that came because the song was recorded in a simple, very quick way. I was in the studio and I heard the beat and I was immediately inspired.
“I went to my phone and wrote the lyrics there and quickly recorded it. This is why I think it sounds raw.”
