Newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town have reached a verbal agreement with Leicester City to sign Ghana international Abdul Fatawu in a deal worth around £20 million.
According to UK-based talkSPORT, the agreement is now in place, with the 21-year-old expected to undergo a medical next week before completing the move.
Fatawu was one of Leicester City’s standout performers during the 2025/26 Championship campaign, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 44 league appearances.
His impressive performances played a key role but was still not enough to secure Leicester City survival and has now attracted interest from several clubs, with Ipswich moving quickly to secure his signature ahead of the new Premier League season.
The move will hand the Ghanaian winger another opportunity to showcase his talent in England’s top flight as Ipswich continue strengthening their squad following promotion.
Should the transfer be finalised, Fatawu will become one of Ipswich Town’s marquee additions as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League.
