At Swedru Senior High School, a remarkable act of honesty recently warmed the hearts of many when two students returned a significant amount of misplaced money they had found on the school compound. The headmistress, Mrs. Golda Esi Andam, celebrated their integrity in a special assembly, where she praised their actions in front of the entire student body.
The two students, a male and a female, were invited to the stage amidst applause from their peers. Mrs. Andam, visibly impressed, used the moment to commend their exemplary behavior and emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity. “These are virtues that we want to instill in all of you. It pays to do good,” she told the gathered students.
As a token of appreciation, Mrs. Andam rewarded each of them with Gh¢20, an act that has since sparked widespread admiration. Social media users have lauded both the students for their honesty and the headmistress for recognizing their good deed. Some, however, suggested that the reward could have been more substantial, such as providing books or other educational materials.
In her address, Mrs. Andam also reminded students to be vigilant and responsible with their belongings while encouraging them to emulate the integrity displayed by their peers. She expressed hope that this gesture would inspire others to follow suit.
