Ghanaian socialite Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Real, has stirred controversy online following comments she made during a TikTok live session about people from Northern Ghana and the Asante ethnic group.

During the live session, Hajia4Real stated that men from the northern part of Ghana are generally tall and handsome.

According to her, she often encounters disbelief when she identifies herself as Ghanaian while travelling abroad.

She explained that people only accept her explanation after she clarifies that she comes from the northern part of the country.

The socialite further claimed that the physical appearance of some Asante men could be linked to historical interactions between Northerners and Asantes.

According to her, in the olden days, Asantes captured Northern women, which she alleged contributed to the presence of tall and handsome men among the Asante people today.

Her comments have since generated widespread debate online, with many social media users expressing mixed reactions.

While some interpreted the remarks as playful commentary about beauty and ethnicity, others criticised the statements as historically insensitive and potentially divisive.
