Joan Quaye, the former wife of Ghanaian businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has claimed that she played a significant role in the establishment and success of his financial services company, Quick Credit.
In excerpts from an interview yet to be aired, Joan alleged that she provided 90 per cent of the seed capital used to establish the company.
Speaking about the early stages of the business, she suggested that her financial contribution accounted for the bulk of the money used to get Quick Credit off the ground.
“90% of the seed capital for Quick Credit was my money,” she stated.
Her yet to be confirmed comments have sparked interest in the early history of the financial services company and the respective roles she and her former husband played in its establishment.
However, the interview excerpts currently available do not reveal the exact amount Joan claims to have invested, when the alleged contribution was made or the specific circumstances under which the money was provided.
It also remains unclear whether the businessman has responded to the allegation.
