John Dumelo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has once again demonstrated his dedication to uplifting his community. On Friday, November 23, 2024, Dumelo donated hair dryers and sewing machines to apprentices in the constituency, a gesture aimed at empowering them to establish themselves in their chosen trades.
At the event, Dumelo highlighted his long-standing commitment to supporting the underprivileged, especially within his constituency. “My aim is to see the constituents progress. I have been paying people’s school fees since 2012, and these are some of the basic things I have been doing all this while,” he said. Reflecting on his efforts, he added, “I did the same last year, and this year, the number has increased. Next year, I aim to triple my efforts, should I be given the mandate.”
The beneficiaries were filled with gratitude, with one recipient, who received a hair dryer, praising Dumelo’s generosity. “In this economy, I couldn’t afford a hair dryer for my business. When I heard that John Dumelo was sharing some, I came, and luckily, I got one for free. I will give my support to him in the 2024 elections,” she shared. Another recipient, who was gifted a sewing machine, expressed similar sentiments: “He is not in government, but he has done so well for some of us. I want to thank him and wish him the very best.”
Dumelo, confident in his chances in the 2024 parliamentary elections, shared an optimistic remark: “For the elections, I have already won in the spiritual realm. All that is left now is for it to materialize physically.”
The donation has been met with enthusiasm from the community, showcasing Dumelo’s unwavering dedication to improving livelihoods and his commitment to fostering progress in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
