Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, John Dumelo, has unveiled a special package to help residents enjoy the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including free public viewing centres and complimentary meals during Ghana’s matches.
In a social media post on Thursday, Dumelo announced that he had paid for DStv subscriptions at television viewing centres across the constituency and installed giant screens at strategic locations to enable fans to follow the tournament.
Six giant screens have been set up across Ayawaso West, with Abelemkpe Astro Turf Park hosting screenings of all Ghana matches. Additional viewing centres have been established at Okponglo, Mempasem, Airport Residential Area, West Legon and Dzorwulu.
To enhance the fan experience, the MP revealed that 13 kenkey sellers within the constituency have been engaged to provide free kenkey and fish to supporters attending Ghana’s matches.
Dumelo encouraged residents to gather at the various centres, wear Ghana colours and rally behind the Black Stars as they seek to advance beyond the group stage for the first time since the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
