Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil has indicated that despite his interest in playing in the English Premier League in the future, the success of any possible move will be mainly dependent on his agent.

Despite having three years left on his current contract, the former Tema Youth player has attracted interest from various teams in England including Brentford, Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion.

To fuel the rumours, the Genk forward expressed his desire to play in the English top flight citing it as “the best league” in the world.

“It’s football and this is the duty of the agent. For me, I’ve already done what I’m supposed to do. So I will just leave it for my agent and the club to decide.

“I will be really happy if teams in England approach and take my best moments and I also show the world and England that I’m capable of giving 100% commitment to whichever club I join.

When asked about reports of joining his compatriot Thomas Partey at Arsenal, Paintsil said, “Really? I hope it happens.”

The Ghana winger had an outstanding campaign in Belgium’s top flight, scoring 18 goals and assisting 14 times to help his team qualify for the UEFA Champions League despite losing the trophy on the final day.

Paintsil will shortly join Chris Hughton’s squad in camp as the Black Stars prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification against Madagascar.
