The current law on Asset Declaration by public office holders has been described as ineffective in the fight against corruption.
This came up at Akosombo in the Eastern Region, during a capacity-building workshop for Journalists on Illicit Financial Flows.
The participants called for an amendment of the law, to empower the Auditor-General to promptly verify, validate and publish the property declared on the form.
It will engender transparency in wealth acquisition and declaration by public office holders.
