The National General Cleaning Days initiative announced by President John Dramani Mahama has received a boost in the Keta Municipality following the donation of 217 cleanup tools by lawyer and community leader Lom Nuku Ahlijah.
The equipment, presented to the Keta Municipal Assembly through the Municipal Chief Executive, will be distributed to support cleanup activities across communities within the municipality.
The donation includes cutlasses, shovels, spades, boots, hand gloves, headpans and wheelbarrows to aid volunteers and assembly workers participating in the exercise.
Mr. Ahlijah described the initiative as timely in the wake of the recent floods, noting that sanitation remains one of the most effective ways of preventing blocked drains and reducing flood risks.
He called on citizens to support the government’s efforts by participating fully in the exercise and maintaining clean surroundings throughout the year.
The National General Cleaning Days are being observed under the theme “Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the Floods.”
