Every friendship comes with its highs and lows, moments of joy, periods of silence, and even misunderstandings. For Ghanaian musician King Promise and Nigerian’s Mr Eazi, their journey is no different.

The duo have opened up about their enduring bond, revealing how loyalty, forgiveness, patience and mutual respect have kept their friendship strong for over a decade.

Speaking in an interview with Cookie Tee and AJ Sarpong on 3FM, the two artistes shared insights into what has sustained their relationship over the years. According to King Promise, their 13-year friendship mirrors what many people experience in real life,  complete with disagreements, distance and reconnection.

He noted that while there are times they speak almost every day, there have also been moments where they go weeks or even months without communicating.

“There are days we don’t speak to each other… there was a time we actually went two years without talking,” he revealed, sparking laughter as Mr Eazi quickly interrupted to jokingly insist that Promise texts him every morning.

The “Slow Down’ hitmaker went on to explain that despite the occasional misunderstandings, the foundation of their relationship remains solid.

“We go through what every friendship goes through, disagreements, arguments,  but at the end of the day, the love is there. Even if we’re not talking, we both know we can always reach out,” he said.

The conversation also touched on their long-awaited joint project, See What We’ve Done, with many wondering why the pair waited this long to release a collaborative album despite their long-standing relationship.

When asked, Mr Eazi explained that timing was everything. Although they had recorded numerous songs together over the years, enough to release a project much earlier,  it never quite felt right until now.

“We’ve had these songs for a while, but it didn’t feel like the right time. Now it does,” he said, adding that several tracks didn’t make the final cut despite their extensive catalogue.

Describing the album as deeply personal, Mr Eazi noted that ‘See What We’ve Done’ album is a reflection of their 13-year journey, both as friends and collaborators.

Released on April 15, the nine-track project marks their first full-length joint effort, blending their individual sounds while celebrating the strength of friendship. With themes rooted in loyalty, growth, and shared experiences, the album stands as a testament to how far both artists have come and the bond that continues to unite them.
