Vice chairman of the National Circles Council of Asante Kotoko, Nana Kwame Dankwah has hinted that the club has plans to invite musicians in order to attract fans to the stadium during their match days.
Stakeholders of the club are worried over the poor attendance recorded recently during matches but Nana Kwame Dankwah believes being more innovative like inviting musicians to perform at games could play a role in solving the issue.
According to him, that coupled with the revival of supporters’ mobilization will go a long way to restore full attendance.
“We are planning to bring some great musicians to the stadium but that is not sustainable in the long term because most of these musicians cannot be doing it for free.
“What we have decided to do now is to enhance supporters’ mobilization this year. We acknowledge that mobilization has really gone down and we are going to revive it. I will appeal to the supporters to come to the stadium because players get disappointed and worried when the stadium is empty,” he said on Akoma FM.
While pleading to the fans to forget disappointment in the past, he admitted there was no substantive reason known to him as to why fans have refused to grace their team’s matches.
“I just don’t have the answer to the reasons why they ain’t coming but, they should put the past behind and come in their numbers,” he added.
Legon Cities after being rebranded from Wa All Stars can be remembered as the last team to have invited artists like Shatta Wale and Kuami Eugene amongst others to boost stadium attendance in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
