Players of Asante Kotoko reportedly sneaked out of the Baba Yara Stadium in an ambulance following their shocking 2-1 home defeat to Swedru All Blacks FC on the final day of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The dramatic defeat not only ended Kotoko’s season on a disappointing note but also helped Swedru All Blacks secure survival in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors had looked on course for victory after taking the lead on the stroke of halftime through an own goal from Clement Tutu.

However, the ‘Ozii Ozaa’ lads mounted a stunning comeback in the second half as Rudolf Mensah and Williams Dankwah both found the net to hand Swedru All Blacks a famous victory in Kumasi.

Ahead of the game, reports had emerged alleging attempts by some Swedru All Blacks officials to influence Kotoko players before the crucial encounter.

The reports further stated Kotoko defender Patrick Asiedu allegedly rejected an amount of $1,000 to “play soft” during the match.

Following the final whistle, tensions reportedly escalated around the stadium as angry Kotoko supporters waited outside for the players after the disappointing defeat.

Several reports claim the Kotoko players were eventually smuggled out of the Baba Yara Stadium in an ambulance, while the team’s official bus was left behind at the venue to avoid confrontation with the agitated supporters.

The result ultimately confirmed Swedru All Blacks’ survival in the topflight, while Nations FC suffered relegation despite winning their final game of the season.
