
Tension has escalated in the camp of Asante Kotoko after supporters stormed the clubs training grounds at Adako Jachie and forced interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu to leave the session.Owusu, who had been serving as assistant to Karim Zito, was appointed by the clubs Interim Management Committee to take temporary charge of the team following Zitos resignation earlier this week. He was expected to lead preparations for Sundays crucial Ghana Premier League fixture against rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.However, his appointment has sparked anger among sections of the Kotoko support base. On Wednesday evening, a group of fans reportedly invaded the training grounds, prevented Owusu from conducting the session and demanded that he step aside.Eyewitness accounts indicate that the situation became tense, with the coach seeking safety in his vehicle as supporters surrounded the area. Training was eventually continued under the supervision of Hamza Obeng.The incident deepens the uncertainty surrounding Kotokos preparations ahead of one of the seasons most important fixtures. The Porcupine Warriors are eight points behind league leaders Medeama SC and have already been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup. As it stands, their campaign appears to be in serious turmoil.
