Mr Solomon Kuyon, the incumbent member of parliament (MP) for Krachi Nchumuru, has successfully submitted his nomination forms ahead of the December polls.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after filing his nomination, Mr Kuyon said he was poised to ensure the seat remained with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The NDC is the current major opposition party contesting the general election next December.
The MP said his contribution to the country’s political and social dispensation could not be overemphasised and urged members of the NDC to go out and speak to residents in the constituency and preach about his good work.
“Go out there and tell everyone the policies I have in place to execute for the people of Krachi Nchumuru and I know victory will be ours after the elections,” he told sympathisers of the NDC.
Mr Bismark Manbo Nyrechor, the Constituency Chairman, admonished party members to put the party’s interest above their individual interests and work towards securing a resounding victory.
He urged Ghanaians, and what he called “voices of conscience” to be bold, fearless and speak out vehemently against the ills in society.
” I wish to call on the party members to sacrifice their time and energy to campaign to rescue the country from the underperforming NPP administration,” Mr Nyrechor said.
The MP was accompanied by constituency executives, branch executives, volunteer groups, women wings and supporters of the NDC at the Electoral Commission office.
