Renowned broadcast journalist Kwame Sefa Kayi has thrown his support behind Andre Ayew to become president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Sefa Kayi has publicly revealed he would back the former Black Stars captain if he were to run for the presidency seat at the GFA as pressure mounts on the Kurt Okraku-led administration.

According to the ace journalist, Ghana football deserves a new direction with regard to leadership as the sport continues to decline.

“If he has not declared, then I am declaring for him. If Dede [Ayew] decides to contest, I will support him, and I wish everybody would do the same so that there will be changes,” he said in a light-hearted conversation with Dan Kwaku Yeboah on Peace FM.

“For this, I have declared that I am not saying I am biased. For this, I have an interest.”

Despite hinting that there have been several calls from ‘football people’ for him to run for the seat, Ayew is yet to publicly declare his intent to run for the position as GFA President.
