Social media influencer, Janet Offei aka Erkuah Official, says the work of influencers on TikTok has become highly lucrative over the years.
Last year, Janet revealed that she was able to make over GHS200,000 from TikTok since she joined the app.
The 3rd year University of Ghana student is Ghana’s most popular TikToker, with over 4.9 million followers.
According to her, revenue from the app is generated from adverts and donations during live videos.
Speaking in an interview on TV3, Erkuah said the app has changed her life and made her financially stable.
She disclosed that she can now fend for herself and is also making thousands of money from TikTok.
According to her, aside the money she makes on the platform, she has also benefited immensely from opportunities through her interactions with her followers and brands.
Erkuah Official was nominated in the ‘Comic Actor of the Year’ category at the 2022 Entertainment Achievement Awards (EAA) organized by Citi TV.

“This is how we make our money. When people like brands come to us, and they want us to advertise something for them, I charge you and make a video for you. Song promotions. And we also make money through live streams.”
Aside from Erkuah Official, TikTokers Wesley Kesse and Emma Ifeanyi also shared their TikTok success stories.
All three agreed that in a day of active live-streaming, one can easily make a total of GHS10,000 cedis in dollar equivalent.
For Emma Ifeanyi, he stopped working in a water packaging warehouse because his salary was Ghc500, but he made Gh2,000 in a week.
“I went home and downloaded TikTok. And in one week, I made GHS2,000. In a week because I was just starting.”
