A theologian and lecturer in mystical studies, Apostle (Dr.) Joshua Spokwell Darko has taken a swipe against some members of the Clergy who claim that Jesus did not die in April, and as such, the celebration of Easter in remembrance of His death is misplaced, noting that the debate does not add or take anything from His death and resurrection to the same mankind.
The issue has become a topic of debate among some members of the Clergy in recent times, setting the stage for non-Christians to doubt the celebration of Easter to remember His death.
But Apostle (Dr.) Joshua. Spokwell Darko who is also the founder of the Overcomers Royal Sanctuary has said what matters is whether Jesus came and died to save mankind and resurrected the third day, which he pointed out that remains a fact, and therefore the debate about the date of His death is irrelevant.
He made this assertion during a 5-day Easter Retreat of the Church in Agona Swedru. He hinted that as part of the retreat, the Church will visit an orphanage home to donate some materials and food items, among other things, as a way of emulating the love and care of the savior, Jesus Christ.
