President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in four ambassadors, urging them to prioritise investment, expand trade and create economic opportunities for Ghanaians as part of the government’s Reset Agenda.
The ceremony took place at the Jubilee House on Friday, October 16, 2026.
The newly sworn-in ambassadors are Nana Antwiwaa Dodoo, posted to Angola; Louis Kwame Obeng, to Qatar; Evelyn Korantemaa Ofosu-Amable, to Israel; and Jedidiah Reuben Adogla, Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland.
President Mahama urged them to use their diplomatic positions to attract investors whose interests align with Ghana’s development priorities and help local businesses access international markets.
“Our missions play an important role in identifying investors whose interests align with Ghana’s development priorities, helping Ghanaian businesses enter new markets abroad, and building relationships with institutions that can support skills development, research, and technology transfer,” he said.
He stressed that the success of Ghana’s economic diplomacy should be measured by the investment, jobs and other opportunities generated through international partnerships.
The President also called on the ambassadors to promote local processing of Ghana’s natural resources and attract investment into productive industries to ensure the country derives greater value from its resources.
He further urged them to improve consular services and protect the welfare of Ghanaians living abroad, insisting that their needs must remain a priority for Ghana’s diplomatic missions.
President Mahama also highlighted Ghana’s application for partnership with the BRICS countries, explaining that the move was intended to broaden the country’s development partnerships and strengthen cooperation among developing economies.
He encouraged the ambassadors to align their engagements with the government’s development priorities and use Ghana’s international relationships to deliver tangible economic benefits to the country.
