The Majority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has firmly denied media reports suggesting that the Member of parliament, Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A Plus, has been removed from the Majority Caucus WhatsApp platform following a reported feud with Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, May 3, the Office of the Majority Leader described the publication by Ghanaweb as “entirely false and misleading.” The report in question had alleged that A Plus was ousted from the caucus’s communication platform due to tensions with the Attorney General.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, remains a full member of the Majority Caucus in Parliament and continues to be on the official Majority Caucus WhatsApp platform,” the statement clarified.
The Majority Leader emphasized that no such decision has been made by the leadership of the caucus and urged the public to treat the report with the contempt it deserves.
He further stressed that the leadership of the Majority Caucus remains focused and united in discharging its duties in Parliament.
Hon. Ayariga also called on GhanaWeb to retract the story and issue a correction to prevent further spread of misinformation.
