The Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region has arrested a young man, Ebenezer Frimpong, for allegedly attempting to steal a police armoured vehicle at Nkawie Market.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a police driver briefly stepped away from the vehicle to purchase medication, leaving the engine running.
Seizing the opportunity, the suspect allegedly entered the armoured vehicle and drove off, triggering a swift response from nearby officers.

A patrol team quickly launched a pursuit and tracked the vehicle. The chase ended near Mim, close to Abuakwa–Kumasi, where a SWAT team intercepted and arrested the suspect.
The stolen vehicle was successfully retrieved and has since been secured by the police.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations into the incident.
