KENYA – Residents of Masindi Municipality were left stunned after a man believed to be dead unexpectedly walked into his own burial ceremony.
The man, identified as Godwin Baguma, had reportedly been missing for three weeks. According to his family, Baguma, who is said to suffer from a mental disorder, had not been seen since his disappearance.
Over the weekend, police informed the family that a decomposing body discovered in a sugarcane plantation in Kisanja Cell was believed to be his.
Based on this information, the family proceeded to organise funeral rites, convinced they had lost their relative.
In a shocking twist, Baguma resurfaced in Kihanguzi village and made his way to the burial ceremony on Tuesday—leaving mourners in disbelief.
Witnesses described scenes of confusion and relief as the man, presumed dead, appeared alive among grieving family members.
Baguma has since been reunited with his family, bringing an end to the uncertainty surrounding his disappearance.
