Manchester City have condemned racist abuse directed at their Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo following Monday night’s 3-3 draw to Everton.
In an official statement, the club said it “strongly condemns the racist abuse directed towards Antoine Semenyo” and praised the swift response from Everton and police in moving to identify the person involved.
The club also disclosed that England defender Marc Guéhi was subjected to “vile racist social media posts” on the same night, describing the incidents as unacceptable and distressing.
