Medeama Sporting Club captain Felix Kyei has rejected claims that he has become complacent in the ongoing football season. The highly-rated shot-stopper has warmed the bench in the last four Ghana Premier League games after a poor start to the 2026/27 campaign. After conceding three in the first two matches of the season, teenage goalkeeper Yakubu Saeed has been the preferred choice in the last four matches.Amid his struggles for playing time, many have accused Felix Kyei of conceding too many goals and losing his place in the Medeama SC starting eleven because of complacency. However, addressing the claims in a pre-match interview ahead of the teams Week 7 fixture against FC Samartex, the goalkeeper said they are unfounded. My performance so far this season has been good. Sometimes there are goals you conceded that are not your fault. Sometimes too you make mistakes, and you have to work on it. I dont agree with claims that I have been complacent, Kyei told Medi TV.The goalkeeper has worked hard in training this week and hopes to reclaim his starting role. The upcoming league match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday, October 18.
