MTN Ghana is set to roll out the 2026 edition of its flagship employee volunteerism campaign, 21 Days of Y’ello Care, from June 1 to 21. This year’s initiative will focus on equipping health centres across the country with hospital beds and other interventions aimed at addressing critical healthcare challenges.
Now in its 19th year, Y’ello Care has mobilised thousands of MTN employees to support projects in education, healthcare, youth development, and economic empowerment. Over the past six years, the campaign has expanded its reach, with volunteers dedicating significant hours to community engagement and adapting each year to meet pressing needs.
The 2026 theme, “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community,” highlights the persistent barriers to healthcare access in rural and underserved areas. MTN staff will implement practical, community-led initiatives such as repairing and donating hospital beds, conducting health outreach programmes, launching digital health education campaigns, enabling telemedicine services, and organising public health screenings to combat the growing incidence of non-communicable diseases. The campaign will also leverage data and digital tools to strengthen healthcare delivery.
Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, explained that Y’ello Care reflects MTN’s belief in meeting communities where they are, with a focus on expanding access to quality healthcare. She emphasised that MTN’s connectivity, digital innovation, and partnerships uniquely position the company to scale equitable healthcare access across Ghana.
Through collaboration with governments, NGOs, and local stakeholders, MTN aims to ensure that the campaign delivers solutions tailored to real community needs, respectful of local contexts, and designed for lasting impact. By prioritising prevention, early detection, and digitally enabled healthcare, Y’ello Care 2026 seeks to strengthen resilience and improve health outcomes nationwide.
With this initiative, MTN reaffirms its commitment to inclusive development and to strengthening the communities it serves.
