The 2026/27 MTN FA Cup final will be contested over two legs for the first time in the history of Ghanaian domestic football.

The Football Association has scheduled the opening match for June 5-7, 2027, with the second leg to be played on June 12-13, 2027.

The change ends the competitions traditional single-match final format and will give both finalists the chance to host a showpiece fixture in front of their home supporters.

The decision is also intended to increase exposure for the competition, while adding another competitive dimension to Ghanas premier knockout tournament.

The tournament will begin with the preliminary round, which is scheduled to take place from October 23-26, 2026.

The Round of 64 will follow between November 27-30, 2026, before the Round of 32 is played over the weekend of February 12-15, 2027.

Quarter-final ties are scheduled for March 19-22, 2027, with the semi-finals set to be held from April 23-26, 2027.

The two-legged final will bring the competition to a conclusion in June, with the finalists facing each other in two decisive matches for the trophy.

Nations FC are the reigning champions. They beat Dreams FC 5-4 on penalties in last seasons final after the match ended 1-1 following extra time.
