MultiChoice Ghana has announced a reduction in the price of DStv decoder and dish kits, alongside the introduction of four upgraded subscription packages aimed at making the pay-TV service more affordable and accessible to Ghanaian households.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by the Head of Sales at MultiChoice Ghana, Mr Michael Lartey, who revealed that the price of the DStv decoder and dish has been reduced from GHS 250 to just GHS 99.
The new price represents a significant reduction, considering that some distributors previously sold the equipment for as much as GH¢300 or more.
Beyond the reduction in equipment prices, MultiChoice Ghana has also revamped its subscription packages, promising customers an improved entertainment experience at more affordable rates.
Under the new arrangement, customers can now access the Starter package for as little as GHS 50, down from the previous entry-level subscription price of GHS 99.
The Starter package comes with popular local entertainment channel Akwaaba Magic, as well as access to the Premier League match of the week on Saturdays and Sundays.
The package upgrade cuts across four new subscription categories: Starter, Select, Sports and Ultimate, giving customers different options depending on their entertainment preferences and budgets.
Speaking at the announcement, MultiChoice Ghana’s Country CEO, Mr Alex Okyere, stressed the company’s commitment to making DStv more accessible to ordinary Ghanaians.
He noted that what was once considered a luxury should now be viewed as a necessity, highlighting the company’s determination to bring quality entertainment into more homes across the country.
The new decoder prices and subscription packages are expected to take effect on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
