Nigerian actor Uzor Arukwe has said his father has yet to accept his career in the film industry, despite his growing profile in Nollywood
Speaking in an interview on WithChude, hosted by Chude Jideonwo, Arukwe described the strained response from his family.
He said his father is aware of reports about his success but has chosen not to acknowledge them. “My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor; he has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe,” he said, suggesting a continued reluctance to recognise his achievements.
Arukwe added that his mother was initially hesitant to support his decision, largely due to his father’s stance, but later accepted his career path. He said her eventual support marked a turning point in his journey within Nollywood.
