Ghanaian attacker Naeem Mohammed provided a glimmer of hope in Halmstads BK’s 5-2 loss to Kalmar FF in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Saturday afternoon.

Despite the defeat, Mohammed’s assist in the 24th minute momentarily leveled the score for Halmstads BK.

Before the clash, the head-to-head record stood at Kalmar FF with 10 wins, Halmstads BK with 5 wins, and 5 draws. The game, held at the Guldfågeln Arena, saw Mohammed start and play for 81 minutes, while his fellow Ghanaian winger Phil Ofosu-Ayeh also represented Halmstads BK for the full game.

Kalmar FF dominated the game with more possession and shots. The scoring began in the 16th minute with Simon Skrabb’s right-footed shot, assisted by Jacob Trenskow. Mohammed then set up Viktor Granath’s header in the 24th minute to equalize. However, Granath’s second goal in the 35th minute was not enough to secure a win for Halmstads BK.

Kalmar FF continued their scoring streak with goals from Kevin Jensen in the 61st minute, Skrabb’s second in the 62nd minute, Dino Islamovic in the 73rd minute, and Jonathan Ring in the 88th minute.

Mohammed has played seven games in the league this season, scoring three goals and assisting once.
