The National Service Authority (NSA) has released Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes for 18,011 trained nurses and midwives ahead of their mandatory national service in the 2025/2026 service year.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Authority announced that eligible personnel can now access their PIN codes via the official NSA website using their student ID numbers and date of birth. The release marks the start of the enrollment process for newly qualified nurses and midwives across the country.

As part of the registration process, applicants are required to pay a registration fee of GH¢40 at any ADB Bank branch or GH¢41 via MTN Mobile Money to complete their enrollment. Registration opened immediately following the announcement and is expected to close on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

The NSA urged all eligible nurses and midwives to complete their registration within the stipulated period to avoid being left out of this year’s deployment exercise.

The release also served as a reminder that, under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), it is compulsory for all Ghanaian citizens aged 18 and above who have completed accredited tertiary education, including Nursing Training Colleges, to undertake national service.

NSA Director-General Felix Gyamfi, who signed the statement, assured the public of the Authority’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process for all prospective service personnel.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), established in 1973, deploys Ghanaian graduates to serve in various sectors of the economy, promoting national development and fostering civic responsibility among the country’s youth.
