The National Identification Authority (NIA) has received 700,000 blank Ghana Cards to address a backlog of unprinted cards.

These cards will be used to print pending records, including first-time issuances, card replacements, and updates to personal information.

The NIA is also addressing the issue of over 600,000 printed Ghana Cards that have remained uncollected at regional and district offices since 2018.

The NIA is urging the public to collect these unclaimed cards and is developing a system for efficient distribution.

The Ghana Card is mandatory for Ghanaians aged 15 and above and is required for accessing essential services.
