The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a strict directive banning all forms of campaign-related materials ahead of its 2025 National Annual Delegates Conference, scheduled for Saturday, 19 July 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

According to the directive, no billboards, banners, posters, flyers, T-shirts, or souvenirs bearing the branding of aspirants will be allowed, not just at the venue but within Accra at large.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Mr. Joseph Osei-Owusu, on 13 July 2025.

According to him, banning all forms of campaign-related materials bearing aspirants’ branding forms part of broader efforts to ensure order, neutrality, and focus during the highly anticipated gathering.

The move, he explained, is intended to curb tension, maintain neutrality, and avoid unnecessary distractions during the conference, which is expected to draw thousands of delegates from across the country.

“There shall be no billboards, banners, posters, flyers, T-shirts, or souvenirs with aspirant branding allowed at the venue or within Accra.

The grounds and operations team has set up dedicated compliance teams to monitor and enforce these guidelines. All such prohibited campaign materials shall be removed and destroyed by the team.

A complete ban has been placed on all forms of campaign activities. This ban applies before, during, and after the conference within the entire precinct of the conference ground,” the committee chairman reiterated.

According to him, a dedicated compliance team has been tasked with monitoring the venue and surrounding areas to strictly enforce the directive. Any prohibited materials found will be immediately removed and destroyed.
