In a recent press briefing held in Ho, the Volta Region Resource Group of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) called on Ghanaians to vote overwhelmingly for the Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming elections.
The group emphasized that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administrations have made significant strides in development despite the country’s economic challenges.
King David Akpabli, the group’s General Secretary, commended the Nana Addo-led government for its performance during the early part of its second term, noting that the progress was hindered by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
He highlighted that while the pandemic disrupted development worldwide, President Nana Addo and Vice President Bawumia worked diligently to safeguard the health of Ghanaians, contrasting their efforts with the high death tolls observed elsewhere.
“Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, President Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia were steadfast in their efforts to protect Ghanaians.
Their commitment during this period deserves recognition,” Akpabli stated.
Akpabli further argued that now that President Nana Addo has fulfilled his promise to protect lives during the pandemic, Ghanaians should reward the NPP by electing Dr Bawumia to continue the party’s developmental agenda.
He described Dr Bawumia as a beacon of hope for Ghana’s future and urged the public, especially those in the Volta Region, to support him for further progress.
He praised Dr Bawumia as a forward-thinking and dynamic leader poised to drive Ghana’s development through digitalization, which has already created jobs for over one million Ghanaians.
“Dr. Bawumia is a generational thinker with a progressive vision for the country. His leadership will ensure Ghana competes favourably with the developed world,” Akpabli asserted.
The General Secretary underscored that political success is measured by development and pointed out the numerous improvements under the NPP government, including health, education, infrastructure, and access to potable water.
He also emphasized Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment, pledging that his leadership would create substantial employment opportunities and promote economic growth.
In closing, Akpabli reaffirmed that Dr Bawumia’s proven track record as Vice President and extensive governance experience make him well-suited to accelerate the development Ghanaians seek.
