In a dramatic showdown at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 23, 2024, Nsoatreman FC took on Bofoakwa Tano in the MTN FA Cup finals in what was a mouth-watering game, leading the encounter to be decided on penalties after both sides failed to decide on the winner after extra time. 

Bofoakwa Tano took an early lead against Nsoatreman FC, thanks to a first-half effort by Richard Dzikoe. The match, held at a packed stadium, saw both teams battling fiercely for the coveted trophy. Bofoakwa Tano’s initial dominance seemed to set the stage for an anticipated victory as they maintained their slender 1-0 lead into the break.

As the second half commenced, Nsoatreman FC intensified their efforts to level the playing field. The tension in the stadium was palpable, with fans on the edge of their seats. It wasn’t until the 79th minute that Sadat Mohammed managed to equalise for Nsoatreman FC, injecting new energy and hope into the game. His goal was met with thunderous applause, signalling a potential shift in momentum.

With the score tied at 1-1, both teams pushed hard to break the deadlock, but the regular time ended without any further goals. The match then proceeded to the nerve-wracking penalty shootout, a scenario that tested the resolve and composure of each player. The atmosphere was electrifying as supporters from both sides chanted and cheered, creating an unforgettable backdrop for the decisive moments.

Nsoatreman FC emerged victorious in the penalty shootout, clinching the title with a narrow 5-4 win. The triumph was historic, marking the club’s first-ever MTN FA Cup title.
