The one-week observation in memory of departed Ghanaian international Christian Atsu is set for Saturday, March 4 2023.
Atsu tragically passed away in the earthquake that struck Turkey earlier this month, leaving the football world in shock.
During the one-week observation, the family is expected to announce the funeral date for the late footballer.
Atsu was a highly talented player who is fondly remembered by Ghanaians for his exceptional performances for the Black Stars.
He made 65 appearances for the national team, scoring nine goals. One of his goals earned him the Goal of the Tournament award at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, where he was also named the Most Valuable Player.
Throughout his career, Atsu played for several prominent European clubs, including FC Porto, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Everton, and Malaga.
His death has been a significant loss for the football community, and his one-week observation will be an opportunity for his family, friends, and fans to pay their respects and honour his memory.
