The Chairman of Parliament’s Energy Committee, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has commended the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company for its efforts to revitalise its operations.
Speaking during a working visit, he said measures are underway to retool the company and restore it to full productivity.
He noted that GCMC has secured a contract to export products to the West African market and currently holds an estimated 30 per cent market share.
Hon. Bedzrah said the Committee will submit recommendations to the Ministry of Finance, Ghana, to fast-track the approval processes for funding support.
The Ranking Member of the Committee, George Aboagye, called for increased investment in the sector, stating that expanding companies like GCMC is key to achieving long-term energy security.
